As with Rock Climbing the standards on display were much improved on 2011 - and a much much closer outcome. Ultimately it was The Blue Liners who came out on top with a one goal margin over Edinburgh Leisure who incidentally won the head to head fixture during the qualifiers by 5 goals to 2.
Deloitte finished the qualifiers in third place and were up against KPMG who finished fourth by the closest of margins over Searching For Challenges - and we mean the closest. With the same amount of points on the league table we then referred to the haed to head - which was a draw - therefore it came down to goal difference. At half time in the final fixture Searching For Challenges were all set for the 3rd / 4th play-off, however, a ruthless performance from Edinburgh Leisure scored them 6 second half goals to allow KPMG to move above on goal difference. Deloitte went on to claim 3rd place with a very close 3 - 2 victory over teir keenest industry rivals KPMG.
At the time of going to print, In It For Fun were yet again topping the leaderboard for 'Good Sports Team of the Year' - includeed in the nominations from The Blue Liners because, "They gave us cuddles". (Ed, check the rule book).
