They turned up in numbers as expected following the over-subscribed training sessions with a few cramming in some last minute practice before the event proper. And what an event, the closest of the season thus far with both 1st and 2nd places along with 3rd and 4th places going to the absolute wire.
And edging it, only just, we saw The Blue Liners victorious in what may be their last ever Corporate Decathlon event. It was all a bit sentimental at the prize giving and everyone recognised what terrific decathletes they have been over the years. Runners up we saw Searching For Challenges bag 80 Decathlon Points and jump to third place in the overall leaderboard.
It was equally close for third spot and Edinburgh Leisure sneaked in ahead on KPMG, securing 60 and 40 points respectively - enough for Edinburgh Leisure to extend their lead at the top of the Leadership table at the crucial point of the season with only Ceilidh Dance Challenge and Personal Health Challenge points outstanding.
KPMG (2) (Wild Card entry) were the best of the rest ahead of City Council (3) (Wild Card entry) and In It For Fun and Team Deloitte who secured 10 points each.
Good Sports Team of the Day, and weren't they just, for the second time this year it was a double whammy for The Blue Liners.
