Touch (Rugby)
Touch Rugby is an ever present feature of The Corporate Decathlon having never missed a year since it's inception.
Match Report
Amidst fears of a wash out, the thunder and lightning threatened all afternoon but did nothing to dampen this 6th Decathlon event of the year - and what an event! Competition was fierce from the outset as the rain continued to challenge, but the teams hardly noticed as the focus and determination was clearly on the task in hand.
Searching For Challenges got off to a flying start and maintained a 100% record throughout the qualifying stages and onto the final itself collecting plaudits all round for their master-class demonstration and 100 Decathlon Points into the bargain. They were met in the final by Wild Card entrants, The Blue Liners who squeezed in ahead of Deloitte by the narrowest of margins who themselves went on to a convincing victory over Edinburgh Leisure in the 3rd / 4th Play-off - collecting 60 and 40 Decathlon Points respectively. Wolfson Warriors bagged 30 points with a crucial victory in the very first fixture over In It For Fun who, as well as 20 Decathlon Points, again received the most nominations in the 'Good Sports' Team of the Day - so particular congratulations to them.
Thank you to everyone for making this yet another tremendous Decathlon success and in particular to Riet and the volunteers from The Scottish Touch Association. If you want to see Touch feature in next year's programme be sure to complete the post-match survey sent directly to each participant and check out facebook.
See you all next month at the Highland Games of Edinburgh!
